Greek Children's Orchestra Performs

Fr. Nick welcomed the Westchester County Greek Orchestra, under the direction of Thanos Kokkalas, who performed a concert in the Social Hall during the Agape coffee hour sponsored by the Skubas family.

Farewell, and Thank You!

Evangelia Roumoudi, who served as Greek School director for six years and taught the Greek language to both children and adults for the last 10 years, was honored  for her dedication and final year to the program. She was presented with an icon of the Three Hierarchs by the community. Evangelia is pictured with her family Dr. Nick Skubas and their children Ioanna, Apostolos and Matthew. The Skubas family will be moving to Cleveland, OH.

Cleo Canelos & Georgeann Mavrovitis Recognized

In addition to Sunday School graduation, the parish recognized Mrs. Cleo Canelos for dedication to the Young At Heart program, serving as its director for 11 years. Fr. Nick also recognized Georgeann Mavrovitis for her untiring dedication to our Junior Choir. Following the Divine Liturgy, our AHEPA sponsored breakfast in the Social Hall for our high school and college graduates.

OCF - First Forty Days Initiative

The First Forty Days: High School to College Transition

Research has shown that many college students form the habits and social groups that they will maintain for the entirety of their college career in the first six weeks of their freshman year. Thus, the Orthodox Christian Fellowship knows it is critical to personally contact every first-year Orthodox college student so that they know that an Orthodox family awaits them on campus during these crucial formative weeks.

Through OCF’s First Forty Days Initiative, our local OCF student leaders, spiritual advisors, and lay coordinators introduce themselves to all new incoming students, making sure that they know about Orthodoxy on campus and nearby Orthodox parishes. It is our hope that through this personal connection, our young college students will not only stay connected but deepen their faith during their years in post-secondary education and graduate to be faithful stewards of parishes across the continent.

Submit your incoming freshmen’s information by July 15th to ensure that your students will receive the full benefits of the First Forty Days Initiative.

Evan Evangelidis from Annunciation, Stamford. Breakfast was offered afterward to all the faithful in attendance.

After the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy and the Kneeling Service on Pentecost Sunday, our parish community celebrated with a wonderful meal donated by the Beehive Restaurant in Armonk, music provided by Michael Zoulis & Orchestra, Sunny the Clown donated her time and talents entertaining the children. Columbia Florists donated the table decorations. Ron and Andrea NIcholas donated our celebratory Mythos beer.
